Operation Enduring LAMP:  Operation Enduring LAMP (Legal Assistance to Military Personnel) is a program of the State Bar of Texas whereby volunteer lawyers provide pro bono legal assistance to members of the Reserves and National Guard called to active duty, and their families.  For more information, see the Operation Enduring LAMP page.

ELAP Program:  the Amerian Bar Association has asked the Texas Supreme Court to support the military's Expanded Legal Assistance Program to allow Legal Assistance Officers to represent lower ranking servicemembers in Texas courts even if not otherwise admitted in Texas.  The Section has formed a committee, led by COL (Ret.) Bryan Spencer, to review the issue and communicate with state bar leadership.  To read the ABA's letter, click here.  To read COL Spencer's letter to the SJA's through Texas, click here.  Please email any thoughts, comments, and ideas on this matter to COL Spencer

American Bar Association Military Pro Bono Project:

This Project "connects active-duty military personnel to free legal assistance for civil legal issues beyond the scope of services provided by a military legal assistance office."  The project's web portal allows military attorneys to refer eligible servicemember clients to the Project, which will then try to place the case with a volunteer pro bono attorney.  For more information, or to sign up as a Pro Bono attorney, visit http://www.militaryprobono.org/
