On 22 June, the Military Law Section held its 2007 Annual Meeting in San Antonio. As usual, we had a great time and were treated to some outstanding presentations. These presentations were so informative and well received that we decided to post the PowerPoint files here, so that everyone can download them and benefit from the information they provide. Click here to see photos from the Annual Meeting. The first presentation is entitled "Developments in UCMJ Jurisdiction." In this presentation, Robert Reed of the DoD's General Counsel's office discussed the potential effects of last year's amendment to Article 802(a)(10) -- especially jurisdiction over civilians. Click here to download the UCMJ presentation. The second presentation covers the Soldiers Physical Disability Evaluation System (PDES). This presentation by Lt Col Scott Schuler, Lt Col James Jurich, and Mr Rick Becker addressed the treatment of our medically injured service members at the Medical PEB System and at the VA. Click on the following links to download the PEB presentation: 2007 Annual Report: In addition to these excellent presentations, the Annual Meeting is a good time to review the Section's accomplishments and activities over the last year. With that in mind, we have also posted the Military Law Section's 2007 Annual Report. Click here to download a copy. |
